Hybrid Transformation Journey – Part 3
Part 3: Transforming to hybrid
A hybrid infrastructure promises flexible, on-demand IT capabilities that deliver cost-effective performance as needed to ensure the best business outcomes. But the secret to success is a transformation from your current IT environment to the right mix of infrastructure to match your unique application and delivery model requirements.
This brief details the three key components to a successful transformation:
- Delivery Models: Customers today expect fast time to market, continuous system development and shorter release cycles. Organizations have multiple delivery models to choose from, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), digital business enablement and integrated stacks.
- Applications: It is critical to determine which target platform or landing zone is appropriate for each application.
- Infrastructure: Organizations have to determine the right mix among three primary workload landing zones – traditional infrastructure, private clouds and public clouds.
This is the third of a five-part series that explores how to plan, execute and run your hybrid environment, and provides examples of hybrid transformation journeys. In addition to key components of a successful transformation, Part 3 offers best practice tips.
