“The mainframe is continually reinventing itself to remain relevant for cloud and mobile computing. I foresee ongoing integration between the mainframe (systems of record) and mobile systems (systems of engagement); Mainframe as a Service (MaaS)-type offerings will become part of DXC's future mainframe roadmap.” -- Meganen Naidoo
Meganen Naidoo, a solutions architect in DXC Technology’s Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) region sales solutions and delivery architecture team, is deeply involved in defining architecture, roadmaps and solution designs, and undertaking projects in line with business goals and strategy. An industry expert with 32 years of experience on IBM zSeries, he is often called upon by IBM to assist with IBM Redbooks and client presentations. He has authored three books on the IBM z/OS operating system, and his certifications are responsible for DXC Australia being compliant with the IBM zSeries, pSeries and Storage Reseller Partner program initiative.
Meganen is recognized as a highly skilled and competent architect. As such, he is frequently requested to work on major bids and projects and to help resolve client concerns on large, high-risk projects locally and abroad. In one telling engagement, he was engaged in an opportunity with a fledgling account, and his ongoing support at the client site gave the client confidence in our zSeries capabilities, which contributed to more requests from the client.
Meganen designed and implemented a proof-of-concept for a cloud migration solution for a major steel producer using mainframe emulation software that has potential for huge cost savings. The proof-of-concept is being carefully monitored and could potentially be used on other DXC accounts as a repeatable solution.
Each year Meganen conducts interviews with DXC's largest ANZ customers to understand their business direction and computing needs. He then crafts a technology roadmap for the customers, one that blends his mainframe experience with his knowledge of AWS, IBM, EMC and VMware cloud offerings.
Meganen is constantly acquiring new skills, spending personal time on training to expand his knowledge to other platforms and emerging technologies. In the last four years alone he has achieved 21 certifications covering zSeries, TOGAF, ITIL, cloud, VMware, AWS, STaaS and POWER8. Having recently passed the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional exam, he now has his sights set on Azure training and certifications.
