CSC Wins Contract to Further Develop Biometrics Industry and Bring Jobs to West Virginia

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Jan. 31 – CSC (NYSE: CSC) announced today that TechConnectWV awarded the company an 18-month contract to develop, launch and implement a biometrics and identity program. TechConnectWV is a not-for-profit group dedicated to growing and diversifying West Virginia’s economy by advancing technology-based economic development. Under the terms of the agreement, CSC’s Identity Labs staff will work with TechConnectWV to advance West Virginia’s identity management industry and spur job growth, intellectual property development and sustainable business.
CSC will provide advisory and strategic services for the Biometrics Innovation Institute Program – a new organization which aims to accelerate biometrics industry growth in North Central West Virginia. Additionally, CSC will provide administrative and management oversight, technical evaluation and recommendations for a new grant awards program on behalf of and in concert with TechConnectWV. The program is funded by a grant from the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation.
