BITC Ranks CSC Among Most Responsible Corporations
News Release -- June 19, 2013
LONDON, June 19, 2013 – Business in the Community (BITC) has recognized CSC as among the most responsible corporations with a top ranking in its 2013 Corporate Responsibility Index. CSC’s entry into the top ranks of the CR Index’s list of responsible companies this year highlights the progress achieved by CSC’s U.K. operations in integrating corporate responsibility practices into its business processes and improving its social and environmental impact.
“Many of our clients seek responsible partners to ensure the integrity of their value chains,” said Liz Benison, CSC’s U.K. Managing Director. “This recognition will underscore for our clients the progress that we have made in reporting transparency, trust, and environmental and social progress across our business.”
CSC has moved up BITC’s corporate responsibility evaluation from a Bronze Ranking three years ago to a Platinum Ranking this year.
“CSC's newly formulated human rights principles show improvements in its commitment towards protecting and advancing human rights globally, while at the same time, the company has shown reductions in its most significant environmental impact areas, including energy use and greenhouse gas emissions,” said Stephen Howard, BITC’s chief executive. “We look forward to working with, supporting and challenging CSC to build on this achievement, as together we drive the transformational change needed to deliver a sustainable economy.”
