Microsoft Software Assurance updates
Microsoft is updating Software Assurance
Summary
Microsoft is updating Software Assurance (SA) through changes to Software Assurance Benefits (SAB) starting in February 2020.
Details
Microsoft is investing in new ways to help customers deploy and use their products and services. The first step in retiring Software Assurance Deployment Planning Services (SADPS) and Software Assurance Training Vouchers (SATV) starts on February 1, 2020, by removing cloud engagements and Azure training from SA eligibility.
To recap, the text below outlines the overall SA benefits changes:
- Microsoft is increasing their investment in FastTrack as their primary way to help customers adopt Microsoft cloud services. With this new direction, they are retiring the SADPS benefit for their cloud services.
- As Microsoft works to improve and expand access to new skilling programs and platforms, they are also retiring the SATV benefit.
- Microsoft is adjusting eligibility criteria for SA 24x7 Problem Resolution support. They will provide as-needed base support for qualifying users and credit toward Unified Support.
- SA continues to help customers take full advantage of their investment in IT, and the changes being made simplify benefit redemption and replace outdated implementation mechanisms, while eliminating duplicated services available elsewhere. Benefits like New Version Rights and License Mobility help customers reduce costs and boost productivity, while the Azure Hybrid Benefit and ‘From SA’ pricing provide discounts to help customers deploy the latest Microsoft technologies.
