DXC AI Center of Excellence
An innovative way of “doing” innovation
Welcome to DXC Technology's Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence (AI CoE).
The AI Center of Excellence is a function of the Artificial Intelligence practice of the Automated Everything offerings of DXC Analytics and Engineering, focused on the study and implementation of AI-powered business applications. Founded by Jerry Overton and Logan Wilt, the AI CoE was launched with Drexel University’s College of Computing and Informatics (CCI). Based in a new, 5,000-square-foot facility at CCI’s Philadelphia location, it is staffed by 100 DXC employees who are also co-op students working towards four approved Master’s Degree programs: Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems or Software Engineering. CoE developers work alongside the DXC mentors on real-world projects, helping real companies identify innovative applications for emerging technologies to solve current business issues and create real value.
The AI CoE will also serve as a launching pad to release new applied AI solutions developed by the students and mentors in what are called “AI moonshots” – innovative and ambitious projects that aim to help DXC customers solve real-life business problems through the application of artificial intelligence.

Inside the AI Center of Excellence

Moonshot projects
With social distancing and stay-at-home guidelines, many employees have been working at home for the first time and may be experiencing anxiety and mild stress. To help, a small team from the Applied AI Studio came up with the idea of creating a mental-health counseling chatbot. Working with Dr. George Mathew, DXC’s chief medical officer, and two Drexel University psychologists, the team developed an AI-enabled cognitive behavioral therapy chatbot.
