It enables many of the world’s largest organisations to simplify complexity and provide visibility over systems that allow them to transact and collaborate.
Challenge
The organisation was going through a transformation of its security and privacy framework and decided to use this opportunity to evaluate its 30-year old business processes and simplify its IT. With a finance team spread out across the globe, the company realised its on-premise system was slowing down processes, causing lag and drain on collaboration and teamwork.
The company needed to retire a lot of legacy systems and processes and introduce modern applications that would enable the finance team to function better. The company wanted to streamline their business processes, work seamlessly across the company and have a single source of truth for the business. The organisation also wanted to move to the cloud to help them collaborate and work together in the future.
Solution
IR had been using Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 for a number of years. On realising its existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) was reaching end of life, IR selected DXC Eclipse to modernise its applications, optimise its IT and implement Microsoft Dynamics 365. The decision to work with DXC Eclipse stemmed from the requirement for a partner with the expertise and deep understanding of Microsoft Dynamics, as well as a global footprint that could deliver the outcomes needed on scale.
Outcomes and benefits
With the integrated, data-driven solution, IR has been able to improve speed and increase agility across the business. Microsoft Dynamics 365 has significantly accelerated IR’s finance team’s response time and created a more transparent and effortless experience for its employees.
One of the biggest challenges the company had in the past was manually integrating systems, with staff in finance reconciling multiple systems using multiple spreadsheets. With Microsoft Dynamics 365 the organisation has moved from having multiple, distinct systems into a single system and a single source of truth.
