DXC Dandelion Program Assessment Centre: Canberra
Launched in May 2018, the DXC Dandelion Program Assessment Centre in Canberra is a facility designed to streamline the identification and engagement of individuals on the autism spectrum who have the aptitude and motivation required to undertake roles for DXC and its customers.
Enabling a more continuous recruitment model, the Assessment Centre leverages evidence-based research and global innovators in the autism area, to make assessment and recruitment of people on the spectrum more available for all organisations.
Helping to contribute to a more diverse economy, the DXC Dandelion Program Assessment Centre provides the means for on-going identification and pre-assessment of individuals for future employment opportunities.
DXC Dandelion Program assessments are structured in two stages:
- Stage I: A two day pre-assessment workshop
- Stage II: A paid, twelve day assessment workshop
Both assessment stages consist of workshops designed to allow applicants to showcase their skills and strengths in a supportive environment with access to autism consultants and DXC technical capability managers.
During the assessment workshops participants will be involved in an IT robotics project where the focus will be to program a number of features into a NAO robot, using modern software development techniques.
Successful participants from the two day pre-assessment workshop will be invited to participate in stage II, the paid, twelve day assessment workshop which extends the NAO robotics experience into a two-week full lifecycle project delivered through instructor lead Agile methodology.
Applicants who successfully complete stage II of the assessment will be favourably considered for future employment opportunities within the DXC Dandelion Program framework.
