Patient as a customer: Delivering New Models of Care by Byron Phillips
Byron Phillips presents at HiNZ 2019
Byron’s discussion is based around a case-study from Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Centre Hospital looking at new technologies to deliver new models of care. It also postulates that purely investing in EMR’s is not necessarily the way forward and focus should be on new models of care with demonstrable benefits in dollars and outcomes.
As an example, the case study from Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Centre Hospital identified after 12 months that the new platform and engagement model has given the centre the following benefits:
- 95% of customer satisfaction
- 23% reduction in emergency services costs
- reduced the total cost of care by 36%
