Remote workforce enablement
DXC establishes two Rapid Deployment Centres in Australia and New Zealand to help our customers to redeploy their workforce into work from home environments during the COVID-19 crisis
To support business continuity, DXC has created two centres in ANZ to enable our on-shore teams to focus on configuring and delivering laptops to be deployed by organisations enabling their staff to:
- Support social distancing and reduce the spread of the virus
- Effectively work from home
- Maintain employee engagement and secure productivity
This service leverages DXC’s extensive partner network, with prioritised and secure supply chain provided by Dell and HP. DXC provides a local single point of contact for any enterprise that needs to execute quickly. The service includes deploying full organisation specific SOE images and related security services. The Rapid Deployment Centres can also be used to deliver other IT services, including:
- Where organisations are compelled to redeploy, or isolate large groups of employees to work from home environments
- Where a significant volume of an organisation's workforce does not have authorised, secure laptops to access business systems
- Where the organisation has enough laptops that are properly configured with approved SOE and security environments, DXC can provide remote support, as required
- If the organisation has laptops in stock, they can deliver these to DXC’s locations for provisioning and deployment
- Where the organisation does not have enough stock of suitable laptops, DXC is able to source these from manufacturers such as Dell and HP that have provided DXC with a prioritised and secure supply chain. DXC will deploy the approved organisation SOE and security and deliver these to centralised locations for staff allocation
- The organisation needs to provide DXC with its security protocols (probably incorporated in SOE)
- The organisation can use its existing network connectivity (VPN connections), or if not suitable DXC is able to source these services, but they may take some time to provision
Extensive experience and capability
DXC is well positioned to deliver these services in an emergency. This is a well established component of our Device Services offering where we are currently delivering this service to 1,100 organisations in 67 countries, managing 7.5 million desktops and 1.5 million mobile devices. DXC Australia and New Zealand enhanced our on-shore deployment capacity to enable rapid deployment at scale for our customers and organisations in this current environment.
Additional Services
Additional services available to assist remote working arrangements:
Advisory Services: We can provide a full assessment of an organisation's ability to extend its infrastructure and environments to enable remote working and determine additional needs and required capacity.
Security: Organisations may appear to be more vulnerable, increasing threat risk. DXC can provide advisory and implementation services as remote working capabilities are extended from VPN access to protect IP and data, device endpoints and networks.
BYOD Enablement: enabling employees to use their own devices to work remotely, where provisioning of corporate laptops is too costly or when supply chains become increasingly disrupted.
Intelligent collaboration: Advisory, implementation and management of platforms such as Microsoft Teams and video conferencing for day-to-day work activities.
Remote access to applications: Enabling organisations to deploy remote access solutions including virtual desktops, and virtualised legacy applications to enable remote access, supporting cloud-based access to programs and information. These solutions increase employees' mobility and flexibility to access information from any location and any device.
Services for Office 365: A suite of advisory, transformation and ongoing management services, with migration support and strategies to ensure the effective adoption and use of Office 365 and Microsoft Teams in order to increase employee engagement.
Unified Communications Services: Solutions to help ensure high employee productivity, high-quality multi-channel communication (including voice), and a single point of multi-vendor accountability through Teams, Skype for Business or Cisco, all while cutting costs.
Messaging and Collaboration Services: Powerful messaging and collaboration solutions, including archive, enhanced search, and content management, with DXC’s strong capabilities in security, compliance, multi-vendor integration, and hybrid cloud.
Networking: Solutions to assist organisations that may need extra networking capacity to enable the workforce.
AR/VR: Remote expert services to assist organisations to have the technical expertise they require delivered on-site without the need for travel between locations.
Digital Support Services: Provision of DXC’s services to solve IT-related issues without F2F support, leveraging virtual agents, chatbots, self-service.
