Speaking sessions
Navigating the complexity of divestments and acquisitions for SAP user organisations
Time: Tuesday, December 1st, 12:00-12:20pm AEDT
Presenters: Theo van Dijk, Principal Architect, DXC Oxygen and Marcus Scott, Managing Director, SNP Australia
Mergers, divestments and acquisitions can help organisations propel growth while offering the opportunity to optimise and streamline processes but with the consolidation comes complexity.
The success of the transition increasingly depends on early IT integration. IT infrastructure, data and processes must be brought together and adapted to the new business models as quickly and effectively as possible, while also ensuring interruption to business-critical systems is kept to a minimum.
But how should these IT structures be transferred? Which data must be migrated, and what historical data should be archived? Are there manual configurations or manual identification customisations that have been imported into the legacy system?
Data selection and migration at such a high level can become unnecessarily time-consuming if carried out incorrectly. Data, systems and processes must be adapted, while at the same time legal reasons may prohibit the passing on of certain data.
Planning and executing the integration can be timely and resource heavy and places delay on the time to value of the consolidated company.
In this session DXC Technology in partnership with SNP will articulate the challenges of manual consolidation and demonstrate how they have aligned automation tools, resources and experience to help safely guide organisations through the system transitions with all relevant historical data migrated and 100% the same configuration, customisations and integrations, achieved in 75% less time than conventional time frames for post-merger project integrations.
