2017 Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards

We are proud to announce that DXC was the recipient of two awards at the 2017 ACT Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards held at the National Museum of Australia on Thursday 14 December 2017.
DXC’s innovative IT career development initiative, the Dandelion Program, was awarded the Inclusion in Business award, and was selected from all award recipients, to receive the 2017 ACT Chief Minister’s Award for Excellence.
Michael Fieldhouse, DXC Dandelion Program Executive, was in attendance to receive the awards presented by the Chief Minister of the ACT, The Honourable Andrew Barr.
The Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards are Canberra’s opportunity to recognise and celebrate outstanding people, businesses and organisations who go above and beyond to include people with disability as participating citizens in the life of the ACT community.
DXC’s Dandelion program is an employment program focused on assisting people with autism obtain IT careers. In Canberra the program has hired 38 people with autism and launched a work experience program with the Australian National University (ANU), the University of Canberra and Canberra Institute of Technology to assist higher education students on the spectrum improve their employability.
The program is in partnership with the Australian Department of Human Services, the Department of Defence, the Department of Immigration and Border Protection and the ANZ Bank. The key difference with the Dandelion Program is the focus on career skills beyond just having job.
