How do you rise to ever-increasing healthcare demand?
How do you meet the increasing consumer expectations of your patients?
How do you make the best use of the opportunities technology provides to improve clinical workflow, derive clinical insight and improve the patient experience?
The answer is a platform approach, to establish a foundation for digital first healthcare and enable:
- The ability to meet current and future needs
- An open and flexible ecosystem
- Improved speed and agility
- A customer focus
- Better patient and staff experiences
- Care beyond hospital walls.
And most importantly, doing this in a secure, compliant, risk-free and cost-effective way. Combining deep Healthcare and Technology expertise, DXC Technology is the only partner to offer end-to-end digital healthcare transformation services. From strategic advisory, industry software, transformation, integration, deployment and operational management services DXC is uniquely placed to help organisations shape their digital vision and embrace cloud as a foundational building block to achieve that vison.
DXC’s Digital Health Platform is a blueprint that encompasses a collection of functions required to enable patient-centric models of care, improved workflow efficiency and resource optimisation - all necessary to meet today’s demands. The blueprint is grouped into three layers: Systems of Engagement, Systems of Insight and Systems of Record.
Systems of Record (SoR)
The lowest level of the blueprint. These systems or applications are transactional in nature and are used to operate the business rather than to innovate. A data fabric (or virtual data lake) is responsible for ingesting structured and unstructured datasets from multiple sources into an index. This data virtualisation layer offers a longitudinal or 360֯ view of customer/patient data without the necessity of duplicating the data. It is augmented with an API and data marketplace that can be semantically linked to curate data for upstream value in a standard fashion (i.e. FHIR HL7).
Systems of Insight (SoI)
This layer, fed with data from systems of record through the Virtual Data Lake, provides a surveillance capability that recognises patterns in population data and care management characteristics. These systems can identify impending high-risk clinical events, gaps in clinical care, and gaps in care coordination or non-compliant patient situations. The more you enrich the SoR, the more you enrich the insights without impacting the SoR in their day-to-day operations.
Systems of Engagement (SoE)
At the highest level. This layer describes a large portfolio of clinical and business digital experiences for customers/patients, providers, policy makers and care coordinators via integrated and collaborative services. In this layer, the platform supports DXC's engagement solutions as well as the possibility for organisations to leverage their existing investments in third-party solutions. In other words, the platform supports a plug 'n' play model for partners of the ecosystem to securely participate in.
Start where it matters. Which layer and function you start with is up to you, depending on your organisation's greatest pain point. Connect previously siloed systems and datasets, and speed adoption of new technologies. This is the approach to take you into the future.
