DXC Technology and pymetrics Announce Development of Neuroscience Games to Help People on the Autism Spectrum
News Release -- April 24, 2018
SYDNEY, Australia, 24 April 2018 - DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC), the world’s leading independent, end-to-end IT services company, today announced the development of neuroscience games with pymetrics, a scientific and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based platform. This initiative forms part of the DXC Dandelion Program which aims to help people on the autism spectrum with employability.
DXC’s partnership with pymetrics will enable the development of innovative recruitment and assessment models, using gamification, to reduce bias and identify hidden talent that would otherwise be overlooked in standard recruitment practices.
”pymetrics’ collaboration with the DXC Dandelion Program will provide access to stable employment and careers for people on the autism spectrum, contributing to a healthy and productive lifestyle balance, while building a stronger and more inclusive workforce. We are confident these recruitment tools will help people who would normally have been seen to have a disability, discover and promote their capabilities” said Michael Fieldhouse, DXC Dandelion program executive, DXC Technology.
Using their scientific and AI-based platform, pymetrics will be able to source talent even earlier and remove the employment barriers for people on the autism spectrum.
“Our approach matches candidates to jobs based on their cognitive and emotional potential, rather than their pedigree or other non-predictive metrics. Using this method, we can remove the traditional biases that continue to disadvantage certain populations,” Frida Polli, CEO, pymetrics
“The partnership being forged between the DXC Dandelion Program and pymetrics offers great potential to inform the use of AI-based screening tools for candidate selection and skills matching. This collaboration offers a unique opportunity to identify how such tools can be beneficial for identifying diverse talent too often needlessly lost to the workforce,” said. Professor Susanne M. Bruyère, director of the Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability, Cornell University.
Since 2014, the DXC Dandelion Program has been successfully assisting people on the autism spectrum to build IT careers in partnership with the Australian Department of Defence, the Department of Human Services and the Department of Immigration and Border Protection, among others.
