Best-in-class solution
DXC Technology can help you achieve those goals with DXC Virtual Network Functions, a QuickStart solution backed by a vendor ecosystem to harness the latest network technologies, including software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV). NFV is an industry-standard technology enabling you to quickly add network functions to your infrastructure without having to add specialized equipment for each function. NFV separates network functions from the underlying hardware and lets you host those functions instead on virtual machines.
DXC Virtual Network Functions QuickStart is a packaged solution that uses AT&T FlexWare℠ and is deployed on the AT&T Integrated Cloud platform. This simplifies your network infrastructure and potentially lowers your capital investments. With DXC Virtual Network Functions, you need only a single AT&T FlexWare Device at each site to run multiple virtual functions from best-of-breed vendors.
NFV provides a simpler alternative to buying, configuring and testing individual proprietary network appliances. With NFV, these appliances are replaced by software that can be easily downloaded and deployed to industry-standard, on-premises equipment at different locations in the network.
This new wave of networking technologies will transform how you manage your infrastructure. With DXC Virtual Network Functions, you’ll be able to make your business more agile and responsive.
Try-and-buy details
DXC will provide up to five preconfigured AT&T FlexWare Devices. Once online and activated, the AT&T FlexWare Devices will connect to the AT&T SDN-enabled cloud to receive the necessary software and assume the identity of the installed FlexWare application(s).
At the end of your try-and-buy period, you can do one of three things:
1.Terminate and return the equipment (termination notification must be received within first 60 days of try-and-buy period)
2. Continue with the trial equipment on the signed 36-month contract (billed monthly)
3. Expand the services and locations for full FlexWare capabilities on a new contract
During the try-and-buy period, the devices and Virtual Network Functions are fixed configurations and cannot be dynamically changed as they can with a full FlexWare implementation.
If you choose a full implementation of FlexWare, you can mix and match AT&T FlexWare Devices and Applications and deploy them to your various global locations faster than with traditional purpose-built network equipment.
Connectivity options
DXC Virtual Network Functions accommodate transport network options, including customer-provided, third-party or AT&T Virtual Private Network/SD-WAN Static Network- Based/SD-WAN Over the Top or select DXC Connectivity Services.
With new transport, the timing of a DXC Virtual Networks Functions implementation will depend on the specific location.
Services include:
- Activate virtual servers in days
- Industry-standard x86 devices that support multiple virtual network functions
- Availability in over 200 territories and countries, subject to conditions
This QuickStart offering includes (depending on the device selection):
- AT&T FlexWare Device(s)
- Juniper router VNF
- Riverbed WAN Acceleration VNF
Key benefits
There are several clear benefits to this approach:
Unique business model. DXC and AT&T have worked together for more than 20 years to support our customers’ infrastructure, integration and modernization. The network is an important component of next-generation cloud-based services, and our combined experience enables us to provide robust and trusted network IT services. Accelerated timeline. DXC’s QuickStart solutions are designed to be implemented as packaged solutions that enable you to proceed quickly and with minimal disruption.
