Digital Transformation Center – Newcastle, UK
DXC Technology’s Digital Transformation Center in Newcastle focuses on the development, delivery and ongoing support of next-generation digital services and solutions for DXC’s global clients. The center in Newcastle is our founding Digital Transformation Center.
The Newcastle Digital Transformation Center is designed to accelerate your digital transformation journey through:
Design thinking and ideation: Our unique collaborative space and tools enable design thinking for any given business problem. Design thinking and ideation help to prepare clients for markets being influenced by disruptive models, cloud infrastructure and the need to be customer centric.
Agile development and DevOps: Multi-skilled, co-located squads use Agile methods to develop products through experimentation and minimum viable products (MVPs) that become hardened and scaled solutions. Squads are between 3-9 people, executing via Scrum or Kanban on a daily cadence.
Multi-skilled Agile teams support product development through the creation of platforms, continuous integration and continuous deployment using DXC BionixTM, our approach to intelligent automation at scale. The MVP is implemented in a limited environment and hardened.
Digital operations: Our Agile teams put the solution into production followed by global roll-out, leveraging Bionix for its analytics and AI, lean processes and intelligent automation at scale — driving down unplanned work and aiming for a ZeroOps vision.
Agility and speed at scale
Historically, IT has transformed the business like a supertanker — large projects, systems and teams. It may be efficient but it’s hard to change direction. Today, IT needs to be a speed boat, which is agile.
At the Newcastle Digital Transformation Center, we get the best of the speed boat world — quick launches and quick changes — but at the scale of a supertanker. We can run a scaled digital program with flexibility and speed.
University ties
The Newcastle Digital Transformation Center has close ties to four local universities. The center works with them to develop digital talent, providing work experience, internships, career presentations, workshops and events for students.
One example is Hack IT, a two-day coding event in which students were trained by DXC and representatives from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and then given a real-life business case to solve. The students received hands-on work experience and got a glimpse of life working at DXC.
Key partners
At the Newcastle Digital Transformation Center we work closely with a variety of partners including Microsoft, AWS, Red Hat and CA.
