Four ways to easily get more — much more — from the data in Cornerstone OnDemand
It’s a big-data world out there — and Cornerstone OnDemand users are in the thick of it.
Powerful platforms such as Cornerstone can create huge volumes of data. But the power of data lies in being able to do something with it. And that starts with making sense of it all, answering these questions:
- How do you use data to provide meaningful information to colleagues and the C-suite?
- How do you turn the opportunity of data into the reality of strategic insight?
- How can you use data to drive better real-time decisions and deliver keen competitive advantages?
These are important questions for you to answer, because the odds are high that your competition is asking the same questions.
According to human capital management (HCM) industry analyst Josh Bersin, the evolution toward having more and more data will continue as a result of two merging trends:
- Companies shifting their core systems to the cloud
- The technology sector continuing its tremendous focus on big data
Are you ready to take advantage of the shift to more and better data?
“Most HR teams today are not ready for this evolution,” Bersin said, when his research found that:
- Only 6 percent of HR departments believe they are “excellent” in analytics
- More than 60 percent feel they are poor or behind in analytics
New uses for data will drive business results
Companies are investing heavily in programs to use data for all aspects of workforce planning, talent management and operational improvement.
- While 71 percent of companies see people analytics as a high priority in their organizations (31 percent rate it very important), progress has been slow
- Analytics is being applied to a wide range of business challenges: Recruiting remains No. 1, followed by performance measurement, compensation, workforce planning and retention
- Readiness remains a serious issue: After years of discussing this issue, only:
- 8 percent report they have usable data
- 9 percent believe they have a good understanding of which talent dimensions drive performance in their organizations
- 15 percent have broadly deployed HR and talent scorecards for line managers1
