Ensuring a sustainable society
DXC Technology helps the public sector make the best use of all available resources — natural, human, material and technical — to operate more efficiently and stay sustainable now and into the future. Our end-to-end services help governments create innovative solutions for accessing and maximizing resources.
Go greener
We apply technology to foster environmentally conscious governments.
DXC helped the Brussels-Capital Region reduce air pollution by creating a system to enforce a high tech, low emission zone (LEZ), where 200 strategically placed cameras equipped with automatic number plate recognition technology take 4 million license plate photos per day. The system cross-references the photos with a blacklist of high-polluting, banned vehicles – a list that DXC created and continues to update. DXC also manages enforcement, sending out fine notices to violators, collecting payments, sending reminders and handling debt recovery.
Fully tap human and financial resources
A sustainable society values all available financial and human resources, including the underserved and underemployed.
DXC transformed the UK National Health Service’s procurement and logistics arm and provisioned cloud services for the British Council’s ERP platform to support global delivery and help NHS purchase items at the best possible value — now totaling 4M orders from 120,000 buyers and 600+ clinical products suppliers.
The DXC Eclipse team in New Zealand deployed Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement for three not-for-profit agencies that deliver national services for troubled youth and adults. They now digitally connect with customers and safely manage extremely sensitive data. Specialized clinicians serving remote communities access and input data from mobile devices.
The DXC Dandelion Program is an initiative designed to build valuable IT skills and careers for individuals on the autism spectrum. The program currently employs over 120 neurodiverse individuals in both private and public sector organizations across Australia in roles such as software testing, cyber security, data analytics, automation and monitoring.
With the constant evolution, change and demand for new talent in the IT industry, the program was launched in New Zealand with DXC partnering with Autism New Zealand to establish an Enterprise Centre to help individuals gain jobs in industries such as hospitality, accounting, agriculture and IT.
In the United Kingdom, DXC and the UK National Autistic Society (NAS) launched a center to promote neurodiversity and to help individuals on the autism spectrum access digital, IT and cyber security careers.
Leverage data and IT resources to keep pace with change
Digital technology helps agencies in the public sector facilitate rapid change and leverage data to stay sustainable.
DXC helped the Flemish Youth Welfare Agency keep up with changing business requirements by making its existing software faster and more efficient. We instituted agile development, improved data security, automated claims and risk management, and initiated continuous software updates.
DXC’s corporate responsibility program promotes sustainability in our actions and our supply chain. We also partnered with other tech companies and the UK Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to develop a guide for information and communication technology (ICT) that helps create a greener and a more sustainable future through sustainable manufacturing and procurement practices.
