What is DXC Invitational?
Realizing the power of outside-in innovation in insurance, DXC has launched a global series of insurtech competitions, called DXC Invitational. These competitions can yield joint solutions that solve key insurance problems by bringing out the best in some of the industry’s top talent in the start-up community. DXC Invitational encourages start-ups or scale-ups with an existing market-ready product or solution that is relevant to the insurance industry to demonstrate a proof of concept.

Competition Details
DXC Invitational 2019 consists of an in-person workshop (also accessible via video conference) and a pitch day during the conference taking place in Mumbai, India. Participants can enter in one of two categories:
Category 1 - The Digital Insurance Ecosystem
A product or solution which can be integrated into DXC’s digital insurance platform to address areas including:
- New business. Simplify, streamline, or digitally enhance the customer’s buying experience.
- Claims. Leverage intelligence and automation to reduce time, cost and risk whilst delighting the policyholder.
- Analytics. Deliver actionable information and insight to key personas at the point of interaction/decision.
Category 2 - Enriching the insurance experience
A standalone product or solution with the capability to address issues in the insurance. In the areas of, but not limited to, the following problem areas:
- Prevention. Help prevent the losses that lead to insurance claims, thereby reducing the cost of insurance for everyone.
- Remediation. Improve the remediation of claims, restoring the customer to a pre-claim state in a faster, more effective or more efficient way.
- Engagement. Drive ongoing customer engagement outside the limited transactional touchpoints of buying or claiming against insurance.
Prizes
The judging panel will select a winner from each category. The winners of DXC Invitational are invited to globally partner with DXC, with opportunity to deploy the solution across regions, including access to DXC’s customers. *Fast Fact - DXC serves 85% of the Fortune 500 Insurance companies.
Who should apply?
Ideal applicants would be late stage start-ups or scale-ups with an existing market-ready product/solution relevant to the insurance industry with demonstrable proof of concept or ready demonstration. Products/solutions don’t have to be insurance-specific, but applicability is key. We encourage anyone who would benefit from DXC’s experience, scalability and industry reach to apply.
What should I expect from taking part?
Candidates will be chosen to attend a briefing workshop and pitch session based on their application. The briefing workshop held on 13th of June, will be the first point of engagement for candidates. You will get the chance to meet with the DXC team and learn more about the program and company. Later the same day will be your chance to demonstrate your team and solution's capabilities with a short pitch in front of the Invitational judging committee. Six finalists will be invited to attend DXC's Insurance Conference, held on the 27th of June in Mumbai where they will pitch to conference attendees. Winners will be announced the same day. - 13th of June – Competition briefing workshop / Pitch Day (Note: It is recommended that participants attend the workshop in Mumbai in person, although virtual attendance will be supported.)

DXC Digital Insurance Platform
Digital transformation of insurance organizations requires a platform to support the right systems and capabilities. Winners of the competition will have the opportunity to have their solution incorporated into this platform with a potential global partnership with DXC and deployment across regions and DXC customers.
