DXC Invitational Insurtech – Europe 2021 – Winner and Finalists
The DXC Invitational Insurtech – Europe 2021 is an opportunity for late stage start-ups and scale-ups to drive innovation in the market. The Invitational is a competition in which participants pitch their technology solutions to a panel of judges, who vote on winners and finalists.
Congratulations to the winners, finalists and all those who participated. Together we are moving the insurance industry forward.
Winner
- Virtual i Technologies – Enabling scientific risk scoring
Virtual i Technologies enables the insurance industry to evolve to data-based dynamic decision making. With its scientific risk scoring VirtualRiskSpace, clients can highlight more risks during the underwriting process. Thus the probability to pick up a bad risk is reduced.
Finalists
- ClearQuote – Simplifying vehicle inspections
- Fennech Financial Limited – Automating finance operations
- Penni.io – Sell insurance online, anywhere
It was an exciting day of presentations and discussion as the finalists described their technologies and how they bring innovation to DXC Technology’s digital insurance ecosystem and the insurance market. As the winner of the competition, Virtual i Technologies is invited to collaborate with DXC subject matter experts, and has an opportunity to deploy its solution across regions and directly interact with DXC customers in select joint pursuits.

What is the DXC Invitational?
DXC runs a global series of competitions, called the DXC Invitational, for late-stage start-ups and scale-ups to help drive innovation in the market and create positive change.
Throughout the DXC Invitational Insurtech series we collaborate with start-up and scale-up organizations to identify the latest innovations applicable to the insurance industry. This is the first time the competition, in its fourth year, was held in Europe.
Guidelines
Participants entering the competition look to address, but not limit themselves to, one of the following categories:
- The Digital Insurance Ecosystem: A product or solution to plug into the DXC Assure Digital Platform
- Enriching the Insurance Experience: A standalone product or solution with the capability to address issues in the insurance industry.
More specifically, products or solutions might target, but are not limited to, these example areas:
- Customer engagement: Simplify the business processes, improve customer experience and drive ongoing customer engagement outside transactional touchpoints.
- Conversion: Simplify, streamline or increase the success rate of purchasing insurance online.
- Distribution: Expand an insurer’s reach with innovative ways to distribute or bundle insurance.
- Impact: Help brokers and insurers provide better products and services for their customers, rapidly adapting to address uncertain times.
- Prevention: Help prevent losses that lead to insurance claims, thereby reducing the cost of insurance for everyone.
- Insight: Deliver actionable insight by analyzing insurance data.
- Operation efficiency: Cut out complexity, layers of interaction, touch points, data re-keying and manual handoffs in business operations.
- Or surprise us: Show us something compelling we may not have thought about yet.
Solutions that integrate or are capable of integrating with the DXC Assure Digital Platform are looked upon favorably.
Applicants are short-listed based on the quality of their solution and compatibility with DXC's ecosystem. After an onboarding workshop, we hold a final pitch day where candidates present their pitches to a panel of judges, who select the winner and finalists.
