Jim Smith
Executive Vice President, Platinum Customer Accounts and Global Sales
Jim Smith is executive vice president, Platinum Customer Accounts and Global Sales, at DXC Technology. He creates customer value by bringing together all the capabilities of DXC and its ecosystem of partners at the point of execution with the customer. Mr. Smith drives DXC to take coveted and emerging customer relationships to new levels of success. He brings the perspective of the customer directly into the center of the company, embedding customer needs throughout the operation by driving strategic customer initiatives, satisfaction, retention and competitive differentiation.
Previously, Mr. Smith led some of the world’s largest business transformations for Global 500 companies as CSC’s executive vice president and general manager for Global Business Services; as CEO of Motricity, a provider of cloud-based mobile enterprise and analytics solutions; as a member of the Avaya executive team; and as a senior executive at Accenture.
Under his direction, Motricity had a successful initial public offering on NASDAQ after completing a business model transformation and global expansion creating a market capitalization in excess of $1 billion. At Avaya, Mr. Smith helped drive a 10-fold increase in the company’s market capitalization while serving as a member of the executive leadership team and, as the head of a $1 billion software business unit, he reinvented a global software platform. He also co-founded a marketing demand management company with leading private equity players. At Accenture, he led a global CRM practice and won numerous customer awards for excellence in business transformation and innovation.
Mr. Smith draws upon 25 years of business and executive leadership experience. His background includes deep customer value focus, new technology adoption, and experience with partnerships and mergers and acquisitions, and it encompasses a wide range of leadership experiences. He holds a BA in business from Juniata College and a BSEE in systems engineering from Columbia University.
