THE IMPORTANCE OF CSC BALTIC IS BECOMING GREATER FOR THE COMPANY’S GLOBAL OPERATION

VILNIUS, Lithuania, 30 September, 2015— The Vilnius branch of CSC (NYSE: CSC), a global leader in next-generation IT services and solutions, has completed a significant stage of development. As a result of the implementation of the CSC Vilnius Centre Development project, the company, considered one of the most desired employers in Lithuania, created 100 new jobs over the last two years. Professionals hired in Vilnius now provide services to CSC clients in different countries and to other CSC branches.
In September 2015 the staff of CSC Baltic Vilnius branch amounted to 388 employees. This exceeds by one third the number of employees working there before the beginning of the CSC Vilnius Centre Development project, partly financed with EU funds.

CSC Baltic plans to further develop services related to the strategic areas of the company operations – they will offer cybersecurity solutions, cloud computing, big data management and analysis, mobility services, application development areas. At the same time traditional services, such as IT infrastructure support, business development, change and restructuring solutions, business financial management, human resources management and related solutions – remain a significant part of the service portfolio.
Project management specialists were the major group of new hires and they account for 35 per cent of all new hires. IT system engineers, sales project managers and coordinators, professionals in other areas where also in a great demand. Communication and Marketing department has been newly opened this year. It will provide services to the whole Scandinavian region, thus additional marketing and communication specialists were hired.
According to managing director of CSC Baltic Antanas Uršulis, the company is determined to keep the speed in further expanding the staff and services in its Vilnius Service Centre.
Service centres like CSC Baltic are most efficient when they reach the optimal size. Then team work become really efficient, new technologies and solutions are put into life faster, natural turnover of staff is less noticeable, while a diversified and distributed business becomes more stable and resilient.
The Vilnius GDC Development (Vilniaus GDC plėtra) project is jointly financed from the European Regional Development Fund support provided based on the second priority of the 2007-2013 Programme of Economic Development Activities – “Increase of Business Productivity and Improvement of Business Environment”. Total project value is 1.28 million Euros. Funding allocated to the project is 0.64 million Euros. The remaining amount is invested by CSC Baltic. Start of project implementation is September 2013, end of project implementation is September 2015.
