NORD-LOCK: Global group takes its next digital steps at the same pace all over the world
Nord-Lock is a global group with activities all over the world, including six production units and more than twenty sales departments. The various subsidiaries and departments had different business systems, which made it difficult to implement a common analysis tool. In addition, a common CRM system was missing. Last but not least, the group wanted to automate the entire value chain from demand to finished product. In the video below, CIO Sebastian Svärdebrandt talks about Nord-Lock’s journey towards a common digital platform.Customer:
Nord-Lock GroupChallenge:
- Global enterprise with multiple, different ERP solutions
- Needed common analysis tools and CRM system to support the sales process
- Wanted to increased automation throughout the value chain.
Solution:
- Global implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Standardization of processes and procedures in one common system
- Focus on digitization as crucial for continued expansion and success.
Results:
- Changing processes drove need for constant updates to systems. Now the processes can be adapted to the system, avoiding continuous system changes and the associated costs and risks
- More opportunities for digitization and automation now exist, providing increased efficiency and increased ability to focus on core business
- Nord-Lock is ready to reap the benefits of working even more closely with other B2B suppliers.
Comprehensive global implementation and successful digitization
”We chose DXC Technology as a partner because they could take full responsibility for the implementation of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 portfolio. We also shared convergent views on the method of implementation. As the project has been so successful, we are now also looking at DXC as a long-term partner.”
Social media becomes part of the future B2B market
Nord-Lock Group is committed to using digitization to automate its production processes and product design, from customer demand to the finished product. At the same time, Sebastian Svärdebrant believes there is increased need for the company to be able to use new channels for cooperation with customers. He thinks that the use of social media in business to business will increase dramatically, especially with the increased uptake of cloud services such as Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Cloud solutions can boost businesses of any size
In the future, Sebastian Svärdebrandt believes that 3D printing will be in all offices and that manufacturing on demand will be part of everyday life. Svärdebrant also thinks that the number of complex projects involving increased requirements for B2B cooperation will increase, as will the proliferation of automation.
“To gear up for the future, we also draw on our industry knowledge and technical competence. The open and flexible system that we implement will help us to meet the new reality that we are facing,” - concludes Svärdebrant.
