The client is one of the largest medical structure in Jordan, serving approximately one million inhabitants.
It is considered to be one of the distinct landmarks in Jordan and the region as a whole, as to its design and health care services intended. As a general hospital, the client will provide various clinical and referral health care services to other health care sectors in Jordan.
At the Hospital, DXC provides enterprise-wide comprehensive and integrated hospital management information system in compliance with variable client requirements. The core of the architecture is a central electronic patient record (EPR) associated with a unique patient identifier positioned as a shared record for all Clinical and Hospital data.
The client is a 680 beds tertiary hospital serving the society for healthcare and for the university teaching facility. To ensure patient safety and to provide a better service to patients, the client needed an integrated HIS for their hospital and clinical to achieve Patient EMR, to reduce manual errors in dispensing and control the revenue.
In addition client aims to achieve paperless environment through electronic transactions wherever possible, they also needed to integrate with legacy ERP and equipments used in hospital.
DXC implemented its Enterprise Management HIS to address the customer’s challenge. This was achieved in two phases of implementation, first to automate patient medical records with manual order entry. In the second phase, Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) system, online Prescriptions, Clinician Access and integration to laboratory equipments and ERP system implemented to achieve paperless environment and other challenges of customer.
DXC and the client periodically meet and review for upgrade of HIS in line with technological advancement and international standard compliance.
On an average hospital handles 1800 outpatient encounters, 520 inpatients, 2500 laboratory specimens and more than 6000 billing every day.
The solution brings together access to improved and more accurate clinical information to physicians towards better care, Standardized and streamlined clinical treatment protocols, overall management control with the ability to track, access and analyze key performance measures.
