DXC Technology Joins Ericsson Industry Connect Partner Program to Advance the Transformation of Smart Factories
News Release -- February 17, 2020
STOCKHOLM, 17 February 2020 – DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC) today announced that it has entered into an agreement to participate in the Ericsson Industry Connect partner program. By joining the program DXC will deliver new value to customers in utilizing its manufacturing system integration and data capabilities to complement the Ericsson Industry Connect solution for Industry 4.0 and smart factories.
The collaboration aims to address the new challenges manufacturers face with Industry 4.0 initiatives. With the rise of smart factories, manufacturers are looking for solutions that will simplify the connectivity of devices while helping gain greater value from the data those devices generate.
Built for industrial environments, Ericsson Industry Connect is a dedicated wireless cellular network that provides secure, reliable coverage, high device density, and predictable latency. With this connectivity solution, enterprises can gain full visibility of their machines, processes and data using 4G/LTE networks, and 5G in the future.
By combining the Ericsson connectivity solution with DXC capabilities in systems integration, security and data management for smart manufacturing, customers in the manufacturing industry benefit from a complete end-to-end solution that can scale from proof of value to a full industrial case for real-time operation across the globe.
“Industry 4.0 promises to maximize manufacturing efficiency through always connected and real-time interacting processes and assets,” says Martin Rainer, manufacturing industry lead and general manager, DXC Technology North and Central Europe. “High speed, low latency and reliable communication from the shop floor to the back-office are key to establish a reliable communication between goods, production systems, logistics chains, people and processes throughout a product’s complete life cycle. These capabilities will take the manufacturing and plant operations to the next level of automation, efficiency, quality, accelerating the transformation, and increasing the efficiency and productivity of the manufacturing industry.”
“Ericsson is working with system integrators like DXC to nurture the ecosystem and ensure seamless and secure Industry 4.0 deployments. DXC’s extensive presence in the manufacturing industry and strong focus on the next gen manufacturing solutions makes them an important partner for us,” said Erik Josefsson, head of Advanced Industries, Ericsson.
“DXC is already helping clients on their smart manufacturing journey, and partnering with Ericsson and integrating their products with the services in our portfolio will bring substantial benefits to our existing and future clients. We will both leverage our customer bases to explore this opportunity further,” added Rainer.
