CSC Named Leader on Everest Group 2016 PEAK Matrix™ for Private Cloud Enablement Services
News Release -- November 15, 2016
TYSONS, Va., November 15, 2016 – CSC (NYSE: CSC), a global leader in next-generation IT services and solutions, today announced that it has been recognized as a Leader by Everest Group in the report “Private Cloud Enablement Services – Market Update and PEAK MatrixTM Assessment: Marry with Public Cloud or Die.”
Developed by Everest Group, a global consulting and research firm, the PEAK (Performance, Experience, Ability, Knowledge) Matrix is a framework that assesses the relative market success and overall capability of service providers in various industries. This particular PEAK Matrix evaluated 19 IT service providers who are involved in delivering private cloud enablement services such as multi-cloud integration, workload migration, supporting industry-standard private cloud platforms and greenfield deployment of private cloud services.
“Security and compliance requirements, specialized performance requirements for resource-intensive workloads, and a need for maximizing returns from existing investments in IT infrastructure continue to drive private cloud adoption,” said Ashwin Venkatesan, practice director, Everest Group. “CSC’s continued focus on and investments towards owning the end-to-end private cloud services stack cutting across consulting and assessment, design and implementation, and downstream management services, at a global scale, has helped it emerge as a Leader in this space.”
Based on Everest Group’s analysis, CSC moved from the Major Contender status in last year’s report to emerge as a Leader this year. CSC also achieved the only Best in Class ranking in the buyer satisfaction category.
“CSC’s vision is to provide cloud services that are application-centric and aligned to flexible business models for clients to leverage digital transformation,” said Stephen Hilton, CSC executive vice president and general manager, Global Infrastructure Services. “Private cloud can provide the speed-to-market and scalability of public cloud, yet with enhanced security. Improved IT infrastructure manageability and flexibility are drivers of private cloud adoption. Many regulated industries, such as financial services, will continue to use private cloud due to security, privacy and regulatory concerns.”
CSC is one of the few service providers in the world that can manage multi-cloud transition and deliver infrastructure as a service (IaaS) that integrates mainframe, midrange, private and public cloud along with centralized management. There are many CSC offerings for clients to choose the right cloud environment for their enterprise.
