CSC on Winning Team for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Contract

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Nov. 3 – CSC (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it is part of a team led by Riverside Technology, inc., that was awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract to provide scientific and technical support services to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The Riverside-led team was one of three teams awarded the IDIQ contract, which has a five-year period of performance and an estimated total value of $550 million for all firms.
Under the terms of the IDIQ contract, the Riverside team will compete for task orders to provide scientific, engineering and technical support services for studies, assessments, systems development, modeling, data management, visualization, outreach and administrative support.
“This contract will allow all NOAA offices to quickly access research, engineering and scientific expertise from the private sector to support their collective missions and address both short and long term events that NOAA forecasts, from tornados to climate change,” said James W. Sheaffer, president of CSC’s North American Public Sector. “Through this IDIQ contract, we will provide critical pieces of the research and analysis that help NOAA protect citizens from life-threatening events, as well as manage the complexities and challenges of our changing climate.”
