Awards Recognize Peer Use of CSC Solutions for Business Gain
FALLS CHURCH, Va., Dec. 1 – CSC (NYSE: CSC) today announced the winners of its 2010 Connect for Property and Casualty (P&C) Awards, which acknowledge P&C insurance carriers and self-insured companies that have advanced innovation and improved efficiency in their operations using CSC’s products and services. The company’s client community nominated and selected the award winners, who were honored in September during CSC’s Connect for Property & Casualty client conference in Orlando, Fla.
More than 750 industry professionals attended the conference, which ran concurrently with CSC’s Connect for Latin America. CSC partners and client representatives from Brazil, Colombia and Mexico participated in this inaugural financial services event.
Top honors – the Connect Award and the Industry Leadership Award – went to Florida Peninsula Insurance Company, Boca Raton, Fla., for working with CSC to enhance Agency Link by providing real-time access to building replacement cost reports, resulting in time- and cost-savings to agents and underwriters. The Connect Award singles out one organization for outstanding innovation and collaboration across all five award categories: Industry Leadership, Innovation Community, Project Management Leadership, Quality Management Leadership and Technical Excellence.
“It’s truly an honor to be selected by our peers for our innovative uses and enhancements of CSC products,” said Chris Chandler, director of Operations, Florida Peninsula Insurance Company. “We recognize the importance of making it easier for agents to do business with us, and we are glad to share what we’re doing for the good of the industry.”
Montana Municipal Interlocal Authority, Helena, Mont., won the Innovation Community Award for adapting CSC’s Data Analytics tool to support Medicare-mandated reporting, an enhancement that has benefited other RISKMASTER users in CSC’s Innovation Community.
The Project Management Leadership Award went to Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, Indianapolis, Ind., for launching a rapid and successful implementation of CSC’s Exceed Policy software for the carrier’s auto insurance business by using a follow-the-sun approach and offshore CSC resources.
Safeway Inc., Pleasanton, Calif., won the Quality Management Leadership Award for establishing a process through RISKMASTER X for performing quality assurance testing on claims management solutions, including the base RISKMASTER X product. As a result of Safeway’s efforts, all RISKMASTER X users will benefit from a more robust claims management system that offers greater flexibility and functionality with consistency and increased quality.
Western National Insurance Group, Edina, Minn., won the Technical Excellence Award for using POINT IN Rules technology to develop the “Underwrite as You Go” process. The process enables the company to notify agents as early as possible in the application entry stage if an underwriting condition exists on a policy that could result in a decline.
In addition, CSC recognized clients for showing leadership, innovation and collaboration in each of the following areas: Agency Link (Western National Insurance Group), business process outsourcing (Farm Bureau Financial Services, West Des Moines, Iowa), Exceed (Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee, Columbia, Tenn.), POINT IN (Chubb Custom Market, Warren, N.J.), RISKMASTER (Uni-Ter Underwriting Management Corporation, Atlanta), and WikonnecT, CSC’s social networking site (Rhonda Mattick of Indiana Farm Bureau – individual award; Mutual of Enumclaw, Enumclaw, Wash. – company award). Also recognized were a leading U.S. carrier for claims and legal and a regional carrier for Series II.
“We salute the 2010 Connect Award winners,” said Jeffery Schwalk, president of the Property and Casualty Insurance Division of CSC’s Financial Services Group. “As a result of their best practices, these companies received a significant return on their investment in CSC software and achieved results that demonstrate a measurable impact not only on their organizations but on the whole industry. The winners are leading by example with their innovative uses of CSC solutions to cost-effectively transform operations and enhance service offerings to agents, employees and customers.”
