CSC Licenses Agency Link to Erie Insurance
News Release -- July 26, 2011
Agency Portal Software to support Erie Insurance Technology Initiative
FALLS CHURCH, Va., July 26 – CSC (NYSE: CSC) announced that Erie Insurance, a Fortune 500, multi-line insurance company headquartered in Erie, Pa., has licensed CSC’s Agency Link as the internal corporate front-end for its property and casualty (P&C) policy administration system. Agency Link enables quicker response times and better service when handling complex customer service inquiries, as well as new business and policy management transactions, in real time via the Web.
Erie uses CSC’s Series II to manage policy administration for its P&C lines of business and has been taking advantage of product enhancements, including straight through processing, XML adapters and 24/7 availability. By choosing a strategy to leverage its current systems, Erie is able to improve the pace of the business benefits resulting from these enhancements, while avoiding the expense of a full system replacement.
“We chose to enhance our long-standing CSC software to preserve our IT investments while driving down cost of operations, accelerating product development cycles and improving service to our agents and customers,” said Eric Miller, senior vice president, Information Technology, Erie Insurance. “By utilizing this low-risk approach, we’re able to select and implement the functionality when we need it, while leveraging our current, proven assets.”
“By augmenting existing systems with CSC enhancements and components of our insurance-specific software portfolio, insurers can benefit from the latest technologies and increase business value,” said Jeffery Schwalk, president of CSC’s Property and Casualty Insurance Division. “Erie's decision to update Series II using Agency Link will support the company’s efforts to attract new agents, increase producer and customer satisfaction, and promote profitable growth.”
Agency Link is self-service software that helps more effectively sell and service P&C insurance policies. Used with any policy administration solution, Agency Link can help grow business and increase loyalty and retention. For more information, visit CSC Agency Link
