CSC Wins Task Order to Continue IT Support Services for National Library of Medicine

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Nov. 15 – CSC (NYSE: CSC) announced today that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) awarded the company a task order to continue providing information technology (IT) infrastructure support and services for the National Library of Medicine (NLM). The task order has a one-year base period and two option years, for a total value of approximately $25 million. This work falls under the CIOSP2i contract, originally awarded to CSC in 2000.
Under the terms of the agreement, CSC and its strategic teammate AAC Inc., will provide mission-critical IT services and support to NLM, the world’s largest biomedical library. Services include communication and network services, desktop systems support and security, critical infrastructure protection and information assurance and application development. CSC also provides development support for a particularly innovative program at NLM called Digital Collections, a repository of biomedical books and videos available free online to the public (http://collections.nlm.nih.gov/muradora/).
