VZVZ Pursues Innovation in Healthcare Messaging Infrastructure with Technology Partners DXC Technology and Visma Connect
Nieuwsbericht -- februari 18, 2020
RIJSWIJK, Netherlands, 18 February 2020 — DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC) in the Netherlands has signed a long-term contract extension with VZVZ, the Association of Healthcare Providers for Healthcare Communication, which is responsible for the exchange of medical data via the National Switch Point (LSP). DXC, which has been the IT management partner for this national healthcare infrastructure since the creation of the LSP in 2005, will manage healthcare infrastructure in collaboration with Visma Connect, an expert in chain automation.
The National Switch Point processes more than 600 million messages annually. These are sent between the general practitioners and pharmacies of the 14 million Dutch residents who have already given their consent for the exchange of data. The National Switch Point enables the reliable and secure exchange of medical data for this large number of participants.
DXC developed the National Switch Point in 2005 based on governmental architecture requirements, which stipulate that patient data may be viewed only by the healthcare professionals involved and with the patient’s consent. DXC has since further developed the functionality and provided technical management of the infrastructure 24/7.
Visma Connect has expertise in chain automation and the development of authorization solutions via authorization policies of government organizations. The collaboration between the two companies, led by DXC, will offer VZVZ continuity and innovative power.
“VZVZ in particular appreciates the stability of the services provided by DXC,” says Joris Smits, operations manager at VZVZ. “Since 2005, the environment has continuously had an extremely high availability. This is crucial for healthcare providers, who always have the essential medical data at their disposal. DXC is a very reliable IT service provider for us. DXC is also providing innovation with this new contract period, by partnering with Visma Connect, a company with extensive knowledge about chain automation. VZVZ has selected this combination of partners with a view to future development.”
Coks Stoffer, managing director, Netherlands, DXC Technology, adds: “For DXC, this agreement is the confirmation of our high quality of service and the confirmation of our strategy with regard to partnerships with IT parties in the ecosystem. With this powerful combination, DXC proves to be able to offer highly reliable, scalable and innovative IT services to Dutch organizations.”
“Healthcare is a sector that is innovating, especially when it comes to expectations regarding the secure and reliable sharing of information,” adds Coen Egberink, managing director, Visma Connect. “We provide our services to a large number of (government) projects in this area. In addition to taking care of hundreds of millions of government messages per year, we develop and manage appointment systems and standards in the logistics and financial sector, among others. We are happy to use this knowledge about (the technology of) sharing data in chains for VZVZ. Helping to ensure secure and trusted information sharing in care chains is also a personal drive.”
